 Born in AC 990

History: While still a very young boy, Vaëlmir's parents, the Baron and Baronness of Khaldreen in the remoted Isle of Wolfland, decided to send their twin younger sons, Valence and Vaëlmir, studying in foreign countries. While Valence was bound to become a Merchant Prince in Minrothad, Vaëlmir had to undertake studies in the arcane sciences at Glantri City.

His Great-Grand-Father, currently Prince Grummash of Braejr, and Master of the Great School of Magic at that time, admitted him at the school where he had been studying since the age of 5. A few years later, his mother joined him as Ambassador of Wolfland to the Kingdom of Magic.

Vaëlmir soon prooved a formidable wizard and graduated from the Great School with apalling results while he was only 12. He became Prince of Virgaard in 1007, at the age of 17 succeeding to his mother.

In 1008, he woed and proposed marriage to Lady Rowena Krollnar, the sensational Viscountess of Bergen. She accepted and had had 3 children with him eversince. The elder child, Lady Wynona, is studying at the Great School and seams as promising as her parents. Then came Sir Etheldred, still a baby brat and finally Sir Drake, showing obvious progeny dispositions.

Prince Vaëlmir was one of the most powerful princes of Glantri, ruling the second largest territory after New Averoigne. He had always been utterly loyal to the systems of the Principalities, even if from foreign origins, which has greatly contributed to his popularity. He used to be a faithfull follower of Rad, secretly being part of the Brotherhood of the Radiance, under the assumed name of Brother Sunburst. He also used to oppose the expansion of the Cult of the Light, considering this "religion" as un-glantrian  and dangerous for the supremacy of Rad.

Besides, Vaëlmir was a close friend to Prince Harald of Sablestone and was always ready to lend him a helping hand. The two Princes used to work together on various political and magical matters.

Few people know that Vaëlmir had in fact became a true dragon. The first step was initiated by the effect of a dangerous curse cast upon an obscure tome of dracology, which Vaëlmir is fond of. Fortunately, He managed to take advantage on the effects of the curse thanks to his dracologist's powers and the use of a Wish spell.

He kept his double identity for some time but soon, while trying to fight the rising of the evil Inhaenthraël (a dragon-sorcerer of Entropy) and to ally himself to the Immortal Ruler of all Neutral Dragon, Vaëlmir had to face Opal. He failed but was save in extremis by a huge amber dragon called Grakin, in fact an avatar of the Immortal Ka, The Preserver. From that moment, Vaëlmir ceased to exist and really became Tinarë, a true huge rainbow dragon. His oncle, Cyd Lendyl, witnessed a part of the confrontation with Opal and Grakin and testified before the Glantrian Council of Princes, that Prince Vaëlmir was killed during the duel...

Tinarë is now a faithfull follower of Ka and he managed to lead a party of adventurers in a quest to recover the Holly Mantle of Ka, an artefact designed by the Immortal himself.

Under his draconic form, Tinarë is a venerable huge rainbow dragon, and is able to assume each appearance at will and for an unlimited time. He has designed specific defenses to avoid his new nature being detected by any means... He is now part of the small circle of dragons of Mystara, loyal to the ancient Dragon Nation.  Thanks to his patron’s alliance with the Great One, Tinarë spends some of his time studying draconic magic and warfare in the antique capital city of the Dragon Nation, far to the North... He demonstrated a great show at the Draconic festival which permitted him to gain respect among his new peers. A recent mission with a Glantrian party, trying to prevent  Inhaenthraël to gain power over Mystara made him very popular, and the Council of the Draconic Nation asked him to become their new ambassador to Glantri. He immediately accepted, thus getting closer to his former life and being able to keep a protective eye on his human family. He has now several draconic followers, and has founded a the new Dragon Clan of Nadriendel.

Though apparently very innocent because of his young age, Prince Vaëlmir used to be an ambitious conservationist, hoping to take control of the entire Land one day, in order to impose a restriction on the use of the Radiance, which he secretly wanted (and still wants) to secure by any means, being aware of the harmful effect of the force on everything and everyone related with Magic on Mystara.

He also realized that ambition was not the good way to achieve his schemes, and has begun changing his views about Rad... In fact he wandered if Rad was a real protector of Glantri and its people's interest, and his new nature tends to make him following the Draconic Immortals more and more, as well as his Immortal sponsor, Ka The Preserver.

Even if he has officially disappeared from Glantri, he still is part of the Brotherhood of the Radiance, but attend the meetings only to learn about the identity of the new great master and his minions. He finally discovered the new master’s identity: former Prince Vanserie Vlaardoen of Bergdhoven.

Vaëlmir (Tinarë) also changed his views when he discovered the Cult of the Light was in fact the Cult of the Great One (a well kept draconic secret), and has just completed the construction of a huge sanctuary dedicated to the Great One, Ruler of all dragons, at Ergoth in the wendarian ranges.

Vaëlmir was also a fierce opponent of Evil within Glantri, as well as a reckless defender of his country. He was the first Prince to publically reveale the vampiric nature of Prince Morphail of Boldavia, and after years of efforts, He finally managed to get the Council support on this matter. Which led to the destitution of House of Igorov as well as the punitive raids on the vampire barons' towers.

At the end of 1015 AC, Tinarë took part with Lord Warduke and his wife Windrider to a secret attack of Morphail Gorevitch Wozlany, the former Glantrian Prince, a dispised follower of Alphaks, thanks to Brannart McGregor’s unexpected help. At Tinarë’s surprise, Morphail had been turned into an Ultimate Golem, keeping his nosferatu powers which made him highly powerful and almost invincible. The attack failed and Tinarë was killed by Morphail, thus loosing the Holly Mantle of Ka. He instantly teleported to his “former” mother’s tower, thanks to a spell of ultimate teleportation that Altaïs cast on her unaware children. He was rapidely brought back to life by a Dragon Priest.

Personality: Prince Vaëlmir seems arrogant and proud, but is in fact a kind and sensitive person. His distant aristocratic manners being a way of impressing in spite of his young age. He can be very touchy and impulsive but tries to act in a sensible and effective way most of the time. His new dragonic nature made him a bit greedy which he dissimulates behind a growing taste for collections of various (magical) types... He thinks that everything has to be done in order to preserve races and living species against the madness of a certain humankind.

What He Used to Say: "Rad shall lead us (me) to magnificience. We, Glantrian, are bound to enlighten the whole world with our knowledge and civilized way of life. Virgaard shall continue to be an example of this radiant glory".

What He Says Now: "What is the point in constantly gaining power over Mystara if, doing so, one keeps endangering the whole world itself ? As a Glantrian Prince, I, Vaëlmir Lendyl, have to protect my people and shall keep on making of Virgaard a wealthy and healthy place to live in. And I will guard my Land against Alphatia's greed and even against the Council Itself, if necessary. We are not all delected by bones and rotting flesh as Your Putrescent Sickness, Prince McGregor !!! (opposing Prince Brannart McGregor of Westheath at a Parliament session, thus revealing he was aware of the true nature of his opponent)"

What Others Say: "He is a dangerous brat that one, too young for the power he holds. I remenber his graduation test at the Great School, he blasted the score ! He is inventive, intelligent, a popular and cunning ruler indeed, but who really knows what he is up to ? (Geneviève de Sephora, Queen of New Averoigne)"

Appearance(s):

§  Human: Due to his mixed origins, Vaëlmir (Tinarë) has slight but obvious elven features. He is a handsome youngman (apparent age around 30), he has white hair worn long and sometimes tied in the back, and deep amber eyes. He often has a short beard and moustache worn neetly trimmed and shaped as a trident. He is tall (6 feet-high) and dresses in elaborate and rich, but no less fonctionnal, garments in the traditional colors of Virgaard: white, black, gold and violet. While adventuring he always wears a black metallic skullcap incrustated of jewelry and emblazonned with the arms of his Principality, a fierce golden dragon preparing to fight.

As ambassador of the Dragon Nation to Glantri, he uses another alias. He appears as Phyrdaël, a 30th level Eldar (gray elf) mage. Under this disguise, he looks like a middle-aged white haired elf, with aristocratic manners and a look full of wisdon in the eyes.

§  Dragon: Under draconic form, he is a magnificient huge dragon, thin and muscular, with long ivory horns and amber eyes. He is covered of glittering scales: his hide displays an everchanging display  of iridescent hues of all colors. When in bright light, the dazzling play of colors gleams so brightly that it is painful to the eyes.

Combat: Vaëlmir (Tinarë) is as quick to cast a devastating spell as he is to engage melee, for he his a master in ochalean martial art (under his human form). He uses his spells and dracologist powers in a very efficient way, always trying to fight stylishly. In extreme situation, he would use spells related to the Radiance or reveal his draconic nature. NB: He is left-handed.
