Note: Despite Altaïs' current title is Countess, she still is called Princess in respect for her former titles and high origins.

 Born in AC 795

History: Born in the year 795 AC in Alphatia, Altaïs is a gray Shiye Lawr elf. Despite she is still young by elven standards, she is an accomplished spell-caster and fighter, as well as an experienced ruler and diplomat. Altaïs' father, Prince Vaëlmir I Lendyl, was the ruler of Clan Lendyl in the Kingdom of Shiye Lawr, part of the Alphatian Empire. In 798 AC, as the Prince was in Alfleish, his palace was raided by assassins (paid by Daëron, father-in-law to Vaëlmir I) seeking to terminate the whole Lendyl ruling family. Happily enough, their mother, Lady Frensell, sister to Daëron, still pregnant of her twins, managed to escape with her children, the young Fëanor and Altaïs, who was still a baby. Helped by her lady-in-waiting, Lady Frensell fled to the north and hid in a forester house near the Blackheart border. In the meantime, Prince Vaëlmir was killed on his way back from Alfleish. The following night, the assassins, who had tracked the Prince's family, led a final assault on the house. In the confusion, Lady Frensell managed to flee with her daughter but was forced to leave her son behind in the lady's-in-waiting arms. Before being slain, the girl dissimulated the young boy in a thick bush a few yards away from the burning house. Assuming the job was done, the assassins left without further investigations about possible survivors. Since that time, Cyd, Thalaric, the young Altaïs and their mother had to live far from Alphatia where the Frensells were still a threat for them. They’ve never seen the young Fëanor eversince. They crossed the sea and settled for a while on the Isle of Dawn, than in Thyatis before leaving for the newly settled Grand Duchy of Karameikos where they were adopted by the Vyala elven clan.

Altaïs soon prooved an outstanding fighter and wizard, and undertook the adventurer life. She lived for a while in Karameikos, where she met Kogaratsu and Grummir, whom she married a few years latter. Together they soon left the continent of Brun and settled in the Isle of Wolfland as rulers of the Barony of Khaldreen. After a few years, Altaïs seized the opportunity to leave her husband and left for Glantri as the ambassador of Wolfland. She became Princess of Virgaard, thanks to an act of enfeoffment in her favor, shortly afterward. When the elven lobby at the Council begun endangering the already fragile unity of the Country, she decided to abdict in her young son’s favor, Vaëlmir II Lendyl. She then came back to Wolfland, when her husband became Emperor, thus becoming herself Empress. But the soupses didn’t get along so well, and Altaïs joined back her son in Glantri and left for Wendar assuming the charge of glantrian ambassador. When the County of High Sonden became avalaible, she went back and competed for the title that she got thanks to her many old friends and the House of Mithrandyl support.

In 1015 AC, She took part in the recovery of the elven artefact called “The Mirror Gauntlet”, and was chosen by the Immortal Ordana to become its wielder. She than undertook the Path of the Tree, becoming a faithful follower of Ordana. While trying to help the elves of Alfheim and protect the Trees of Life from the rotting desease caused by the Shadow elves and their allies using a new form of Radiance created by Rafiel, she used the Gauntlet powers to save and duplicate the Tree of Life of Clan Feadiel. She transplanted the new Tree of Life in the forest located on the border of Glantri (Virgaard) and Wendar, near the Lawensa depression. She then became Treekeeper of a new elven clan, composed of members of Clan Feadil who decided to leave the deadly endangered Alfheim.

Personnality:  Altaïs is capable of being a sensitive, charming and seductive elf woman as well as a real fury. She is very aristocratic and proud, but easily recognizes to others the right of belonging to the elite, which she is obviously part of. Her hot temper makes her touchy and impulsive, which adds to her high efficiency in combat but sometimes leads to delicate situations. To put it in a nutshell, Altaïs could be described as spicy.  The Way of the Tree, that she recently undertook, tends to temperate her impulsiveness. She is a now a most faithfull follower of the Immortal Ordana.

What She Says: "How dare you talk to me this way!!! You petty little monk!!! I am a true Elven Princess, not one of your fraudulent corrupted priests!!! I expect your apologies, Conciliator, unless you shall soon be dancing with Death at the Dueling Court... (to the Conciliator Menor, Patriarch of Agromor, during a voting cession at Parliament)"

What Others Say: "Have you ever thought the Beauty and the Beast could be the same one person ? (Prince Harald of Haaskinz)"

Appearance: Tall of stature for an elf, Altaïs posseses a breath-taking beauty. She has the pale complexion of the gray elves, with golden blond hair that she wears long or tied in complicated ways. She wears revealing, elaborate black, white or gold dresses with red or purple jewelry which accentuates her deep violet eyes. In combat situation she affectionates black or white stylish garments over an elven chainmail, such as leather pants and tunic, tall leather boots and a silk blouse, her saber and wands strapped at her side with a purple sash. She often wears two short swords sheathed and crossed on her back. When presiding a ceremony before the Tree of Life of her clan, she is clad in long white robes, concealing her elven chainmail. At war, she affectionates her chainmail with various armor elements. She always wears as jewelry one of the symbols of her Immortal patron Ordana, an oak leaf or a dryad.

Combat: As a formidable fighter and highly skilled spell-caster, Altaïs is a very dangerous opponent. She affectionates particularly spectacular and devastating spells, in concordance with her hot temper. When fighting with weapons, she is able to use her right and left hands together with lethal efficiency. The Way of the Tree taught her to affectionate nature-related spells, but she is able to use both destructive and constructive aspect of  Nature’s power.
